Unique and Beautiful Quilt made available to the public

How often does it happen that a hand-made, heirloom-quality quilt becomes available to the public.  At a reasonable price, almost never.  Thanks to the generosity of some of Huntington's most skilled crafts people, the opportunity is now available through the Huntington Historical Society.  The quilt, shown in these photos, will be available, via a raffle, throughout the summer and fall months of 2008.  Don't miss this opportunity.

On April 2nd, 2008 The Huntington Homemakers presented this beautiful patchwork “crazy” quilt to the Huntington Historical Society.  The quilt was designed by Laurel Colton and Margaret Wuestman.  It was lovingly crafted by:  Marie Baum, Mary Brennan, Gayle Euchner, Gertrude Finn, Aline Haggert, Teri Nielson, Jean Oderwald, June Ritchey and Beryl Russell.   This photo shows the Homemakers presenting the quilt to Pat Ernst of the Historical Society.  Their generous sharing of time and talent is greatly appreciated by the Historical Society.  Income from raffle sales on this desirable item will be a great help to the Society in  fulfilling its mission of preserving and sharing Huntington's heritage..

Raffles for the quilt will be available at all Huntington Historical Society events until the drawing at the Historic House Tour on December 7th, the first Sunday in December.  The raffles will be available at the Sheep to Shawl Festival, Sunday May 4th, at the Kissam House on Park Ave., the Heritage Antique Show Saturday, May 17th and Sunday, May 18th at Huntington High School, the Wine Tasting at the Kissam House, Sat., Sept., 13, and the Apple Festival Sunday, October 14th.
