Home Up

The Huntington Historical Society celebrated the holiday season on Sunday, December 2nd, with a historic house tour in a winter wonderland.  This charming tour, "Five Centuries of Huntington Homes" featured local homes from the 17th, 18th, 19th, 20th and 21st centuries, each one chosen for its distinct design and historical details.  It started with an exhibit of antique sleds and sleighs in the Kissam barn, accompanied by a delicious assortment of home-made goodies.  The tour then continued into the Kissam House Museum with a lovely display of 1910-1915 party apparel from the Society's Costume collection.  It then proceeded through the five outstanding homes, each representing one of the centuries of Huntington life.

The tour was made possible through the generosity of the five home owners who opened their beautiful homes to all of us, and our many sponsors (listed below).  Nearly 100 volunteers, without whom the day would not have been possible, baked, worked and presented the homes on tour.  Nearly 350 people  participated in the tour, and had a wonderful time.  The photos below show some of the scenes from this unique day.
